Deborah, Mother of Israel

Author: Marlene D. Lake

It took a woman to lead an entire nation to victory.
For over twenty years, the Hebrew people have suffered under the oppression of General Sisera and his raiding Canaanite soldiers, who steal their crops, their weapons, and abduct the beautiful young Israelite girls. Fifteen-year-old Deborah, the daughter of a leader of her village, senses even more impending danger is close at hand but feels Yahweh’s presence encircling her. As Deborah grows, she determines to do something about the marauding Canaanites and becomes not only a shining example of wisdom and courage to her people, but a rallying force for change in a dangerous world.
